Glowtify Inc. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") (1250 Rene-Levesque Boulevard West, Suite 2200, Montreal, QC H3B 2S2, Canada) is responsible for personal information collected through giowtify.com and the Glowtify platform under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act ("PIPEDA") and Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25 / Bill 64). Contact: [email protected].
Glowtify provides AI-powered social media marketing automation for trade and service businesses, including plumbers, HVAC contractors, electricians, landscapers, roofers, and other home-service operators. When you use our platform, you may connect your social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, Google Business Profile) and email channels so that Glowtify can draft and publish content on your behalf. This policy explains exactly what information we collect in that process, how we use it, and what rights you have.
1. Accountability
The Company is accountable for all personal information in its possession. Marc Allard (CEO) acts as our designated Privacy Officer and can be reached at [email protected] or by mail at the address below. Our Privacy Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with PIPEDA and applicable Quebec law.
2. Personal Information We Collect
We collect personal information only to the extent needed to operate the platform. The main categories are:
- Account and contact information: your name, email address, phone number, business name, business city, and trade type (e.g., plumber, HVAC, electrician) that you provide during registration and onboarding.
- Social media account credentials and content: OAuth tokens and profile data from Instagram, Facebook, and Google Business Profile accounts you connect. We access these accounts only to read your profile settings and to publish the posts we draft for you on your instruction.
- Marketing content you create or approve: post drafts, captions, email copy, and scheduling choices that you review and approve through the platform.
- Contact-form submissions: the name, email, trade type, and message you submit through our contact form at giowtify.com/contact.html.
- Technical and usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent, and feature interactions collected automatically when you use the site or platform.
- Analytics data (with your consent): aggregated engagement metrics and usage patterns collected via anonymised analytics tools to help us improve the platform.
3. Purposes Identified at Collection
We collect and use personal information for these specific purposes:
- To create and manage your Glowtify account;
- To generate AI-written marketing content tailored to your trade, city, and seasonal patterns;
- To schedule and publish content to your connected social media and email channels on your behalf;
- To send you weekly summary emails summarising published posts and upcoming scheduled content;
- To respond to your support requests, contact-form messages, and feature requests;
- To improve the platform through anonymised usage analysis;
- To comply with our legal obligations under PIPEDA and applicable Quebec law.
We will not use your information for materially different purposes without notifying you and, where required by law, obtaining your fresh consent.
We do not use your social media content, your marketing drafts, or your client data to train our AI models without your explicit written consent.
4. Consent
Where required, we obtain meaningful consent before collecting, using, or disclosing personal information. Consent may be express (for example, checking a box during registration) or implied (for example, submitting a contact form). You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us at [email protected]. Withdrawal of consent to core processing may limit your ability to use the platform.
For social media channel connections, you grant consent by completing the OAuth flow for each platform. You can revoke that access at any time by disconnecting the account in your Glowtify settings or through the relevant platform's app permissions page.
5. Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention
We use personal information only for the purposes identified at collection, except with your consent or as required or permitted by law. We share information only with:
- Service providers: hosting, cloud infrastructure, email delivery, and payment processors acting under our instruction and bound by data-processing agreements;
- Social media platforms: when publishing posts to your connected accounts, we pass only the content and scheduling instructions needed to complete the post;
- Law enforcement or regulatory bodies: when required by a valid legal demand.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for third-party advertising purposes.
We retain account and platform data for as long as your account is active and for up to 12 months after closure, to allow account recovery and to meet legal retention obligations. Contact-form records are retained for 24 months. Technical log data is retained for 90 days. Social media tokens are deleted when you disconnect the account or close your Glowtify account, whichever comes first.
6. Your PIPEDA Rights
Under PIPEDA and applicable provincial law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you;
- Challenge the accuracy of that information and request correction;
- Know what third parties we have disclosed your information to;
- Withdraw consent to non-essential processing;
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Quebec residents under Law 25 also have the right to data portability (receiving your data in a structured, commonly used format) and the right to object to certain automated decision-making that significantly affects you.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with your request. We will respond within 30 days, extendable by an additional 30 days with notice where the request is complex or numerous.
7. Right to File a Complaint
If you have a concern about how we handle your personal information, please contact us first so we have the opportunity to address it. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca. Quebec residents may also contact the Commission d'acces a l'information du Quebec at cai.gouv.qc.ca.
8. Cookies and Cross-Border Transfers
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and measure usage. For details, see our Cookie Policy.
Our platform infrastructure is hosted on servers in Canada and the United States. Where personal information is transferred outside Canada (for example, to cloud service providers in the US), we use contractual safeguards consistent with PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25 requirements, including data processing agreements that require the recipient to apply comparable privacy protections.
